Service Description

Personal Care Aides are very much like Home Health aides in most ways but are a bit less involved in patient touching or the medical monitoring and assistance functions. They typically help people who are physically disabled, chronically Ill, cognitively impaired, and older adults who need help to live in their own homes or at an assisted living type facility, or institution. The HHA will help the patient from rising and getting out of bed each day, bathing, dressing grooming, taking meds etc., they can also help disabled people get to and from work or rehabilitation, or hospice and other day programs .as prescribed or required. Aides will also provide housekeeping and homemaking tasks such as laundry, shopping meal planning and preparation, changing of bed linens, pet care, etc. . . . They will also accompany clients to doctor appts. , Social engagements and other situations as deemed appropriate and necessary. A sample listing of PCA services is as listed below; Personal Hygiene, bathing, toileting, mouth care, skin care, shaving etc. Continence care – , transferring, ambulation, walking, dressing and grooming, overnight monitoring Meal planning and preparation, medication reminders, housekeeping and laundry, shopping, errands Companionship, entertainment, accompaniment, additional duties as required.
